Shown below, stitched on oatmeal color linen to cover a small stool.
I used pinking shears to cut the hem and then washed it.
Trimmed the long threads that came out when in the washer and the rest is nice and neat because of the pinking.

To secure it to the stool,
I cut a strip of linen about 4 in. wide and stitched the edges down.

(If I had thought of it, I would have used the pinking shears here too!)
